Leather Sport Wallet
RFID Theft Protection
Losing your wallet and having to cancel your cards to prevent theft is a pain. Not losing your wallet and having someone access your credit cards anyways is even worse. We add a thin layer of military-grade RFID blocking material to our wallets to prevent "RFID-skimming", a kind of theft where high-frequency scanners (13.56MHz) are used to duplicate credit cards and passport numbers without your wallet leaving your pocket.
No longer as minimalist as it once was
I've been a big fan of Allett's wallets for awhile now. After 8 years of heavy use, my current Leather Sport was literally coming apart at the seams. So it was time for a new one. I'm very disappointed to find that at some point in the last few years, they changed the design to be well over twice as thick. The leather is much thicker, which I can partly forgive... it seems sturdier as a result. What I don't like are the "sticky" panels inside the pockets, designed to keep the cards in. I never had a problem with the cards falling out -- that seems like the whole point of the inward-facing pockets. The new panels simply make it hard to get the cards out, *and* they needlessly add meaningful thickness to the wallet, that I don't want! Between the beefier leather and the thick "sticky" pads, this is no longer the outrageously thin leather wallet that it once was. It's still thinner than average, but not dramatically so. I'm unfortunately very disappointed, after being a big fan for more than a decade.
Fit and Function
I'd known about Allett or sometime but I only recently found the sport version. The original is frankly too large for my purposes which is front pocket carry. but the sport version is a perfect blend of fit and function. I have experimented with many different types of wallets over the years. Anything from wallets designed primarily to carry plastic cards. To bespoke leather products. A wallet designed only to carry cards is a nightmare to manage money in and an entirely leather wallet made out of thick high quality leather is, well thick. as much as I'd like to get away from it I can never entirely get away from using money there are too many social instances where you just have to have it. Power outages, tipping a valet, tipping in restaurants. I found the sport wallet because I was searching for a wallet that had its dimensions. And of those choices this was by far and away the thinnest. I have never seen a bifold wallet that packs down to a size like this.
I bought this wallet and received it today. It's quite impressive that i can hold wallet without being interrupted anymore. I can truly recommend it to someone wants to try minimalism. But not for the people who get satisfied with bringing his whole property.
Exactly As Advertised
This is my second slim leather allett and it's exactly as advertised. If this one lasts 11 years like the last one I'll be more than satisfied. Even when it did fail the cause was the stitching started to come undone. No rips or cracks in the leather or nylon itself. I possibly could've just had it sewn back together and gotten years more life out of it.
I love this wallet!!!
It's super thin and no BS. The leather work is slick and perfect!
