For a good decade I had used a basic hemp bifold that I would have to replace annually due to wear. When I was shopping for my annual replacement wallet in February of 2016, I tried a lot of various bi-folds that just stacked cards and contents on top of each other. If you aren’t aware of the simple design change of the Allett wallet, compare it to your current wallet and I bet it will slim down your pocket. The old hemp bi-folds I previously used were the same dimensions as this RFID Slim Original but arranged all of the card sleeves inline. The Allett ingeniously fits two additional card pockets, cutting the thickness of any stack of cards in half. Although the RFID version of this wallet is a little thicker than the non-RFID Original, the added security is worth the extra material (which is not “crinkly” at all). And the RFID blocking doe indeed work as I constantly test it with hotel keycards which don’t work when they’re in this wallet. This Allett RFID Slim Original wallet is now a little over one year old and still looks new. The wallet definitely was worth the extra investment over a $15 hemp bifold and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one (which I did- the Slim Sport- for front-pocket dress-wear).

Ordered a week before Christmas, and got it within 5 working days..amazing! What’s even more amazing was the fact that with all the stuff from my old wallet transferred to the Allett, it was as thick as the old wallet EMPTY. Love this! Much thanks all the way from Malaysia 🙂

I had one of the original sail-cloths for about 15 years. My niece’s husband said: “As long as I’ve known you, you’ve had that green wallet”. I had bought it right after the NY Times article about a small company in San Diego making “thin wallets”. That green, tattered thing with holes worn in the bottom was known as “Greenie”. Greenie had been at top of Tungurahua Volcano in the Ecuadorean Andes a week before the volcano blew. Greenie has been on the top of Haleakala Volcano a month. Greenie was on the top deck of the Eiffel Tower in France and rode the elevator down with all the security guards at midnight one Friday night. Greenie was on the “summit” of Table Top Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, on the crest of the Sydney Harbor Bridge, on the top of the London Eye and at the top of the DNA Tower in Perth Australia.. Greenie visited penguins in South Africa, penguins in Victoria, Australia, and orca whales in Victoria, British Columbia. Greenie went to see U2 in Helsinki, Finland, in Nice, France, in Amsterdam, Holland, in Oakland CA, in Los Angeles, and in Las Vegas NV. But sadly, as for all of us, Greenie just got too old. Cards kept spilling out. The wear and tear was beyond dignity. I bought a new RFID-proof thin wallet from Allett. I received the wallett and just now as I am writing this I realize that the company name allett is wallett ithout the w. So, I received the wallett and instantly fell in love with it. It FEELS good in the hand. It feels GOOD in the hand. The leather feels supple and soft. The credit card pockets are so much better that the ones made of sail cloth….I had to be so careful with Greenie, towards the end he would spill the cards all over the floor. But with this new RFID-proof thin wallett the cards are held snug and tight in their pocket. I am buying another one for my niece’s husband. I LOVE THIS WALLETT. It’s a she, and her name is Gray.

Made to last! I bought my first one 6 years ago right after I had lunch with a client. He commented on my THICK “George Costanza” wallet and showed his All-Ett to me.. Last year I upgraded to the RFID Leather wallet and it is also excellent. My old wallet is in my briefcase with gift cards, membership cards, etc and will probably last forever. I bought one for my son and friends as gifts–all positive responses from my friends. They say they have a bunch of “gift wallets” in a drawer but this is the one they use! Quite a testimonial

I’ve had my Allett Original for five years and it it still in great shape. Very workable and thin.
I am getting a new RFID Original solely for the security.
Excellent wallet. Well worth looking into.

Like other reviewers have said, it was a stroke of genius to position the credit card sleeves parallel to each other instead of in overlapping “shingles.” As a result, even with multiple cards in each sleeve, the wallet is thin enough for me to leave it in my back pocket while driving without it being uncomfortable and without it possibly leading to back pain/lower spine misalignment.

One thing I would have liked would have been for both pockets to run the full depth of the wallet, because as it is, the cash pocket is shallower than the other pocket, which results in a horizontal “ridge” two-thirds of the way down when the wallet is closed. I know this makes it easier to access your cash, but maybe this once, I would have preferred appearance over functionality.

Nevertheless, it’s still the best wallet I’ve ever had, and I plan on buying Allett wallets, either this or another design, to give as Christmas gifts!

The wallet is awesome. Holds all of my cards, plus bills and some business cards. I travel a lot for work so it’s essential for me to have everything I need in a slim case.
The only complaint I have is the stitching along the top. All of the stitching has come loose, but the wallet has not completely fallen apart so it’s still my main carry item.

I love it when true innovation is found in objects we use everyday. I bought this wallet because it was RF blocking. However, the real game changer is how the wallet stores your credit cards. Traditional wallets store your cards individually in an overlapping, “shingled” manner, with the cards oriented the same way on opposing sides of the wallet. This design works well if you want to store rigid plastic cards in a way that stacks them together as thickly as possible. This wallet, on the other hand, stores several cards together (2 or 3 in my case) in flat sleeves that are parallel to each other. The result – I carry 11 cards in my wallet, and it is only 1/4 inch thick. It also does not have the strange stiffness and “crinkle” that I have experienced in other RF blocking wallets. My only criticism is that the opening for your cash is a bit too narrow. Otherwise the design is pure genius… all wallets should be made this way.

The way the credit cards are positioned in this wallet makes it very thin, which is what I was after.

The wallet is only slightly taller than a normal wallet, but still fits in the back pocket of my jeans. Cdn and EU currencies being taller and longer than US bills fit too. Plus there is a second pocket that runs the full depth and width of the wallet, good for larger notes or winning lottery tickets.

RFID does set off metal detectors, something to make note of when going through airport security.
