United StatesEven better than my old Allett bifold
My wife recently borrowed my several-years-old Allett bifold wallet that I use for travel; she needed a smaller wallet to fit in a small-size purse required by a sports venue we were going to for a game. Afterwards she decided that she wanted one of her own, but when we visited Allett's website the tri-fold caught her eye due to its velcro closure. I got one, too, since its narrower width will fit in a front pocket better than my bifold does. These are just as well-made as my original bifold wallet, with plenty of pockets; glad you kept the divided bill section, and the RFID blocking is a nice feature -- both are good for travel. The velcro is thin and quiet, and the non-slip grips in the card pockets are an improvement over my original wallet since I used to worry about the possibility of cards falling out of that one. I won't be using the coin pocket for coins, but cards will fit in there, too. My wife got the pen, which is easy to hold (good for quick tasks, I wouldn't write a long letter with it), writes well, and fits unobtrusively into the slot built into the wallet. (Now I'm thinking I should've gotten one, too.) Delivery was very quick, and it's good to see that these are made in the U.S., down in San Diego. A comment about the colors shown on the website: my wife's green wallet is darker than what's shown online (she still likes it), and while my new black one is... well, black, the blue card pocket inside it is darker than the blue wallet shown. Since that pocket is probably made from the same fabric used on the outside of the blue wallet, that wallet is most likely darker than what's shown, too. While I like my black one, I could've been swayed towards the blue if its darker shade had been portrayed more accurately. (In Allett's defense, though, I was going to attach pictures to this review but when I took them, the colors looked as light as they did on the website.) While these now cost about 2-1/2 times more than what I paid for my original bifold, they are well-made and have more -- and better -- features. My wife likes hers enough that she's considering using it daily in place of her current leather wallet! I'm not quite ready to give up my back-pocket leather wallet, but I'll enjoy using this one the next time we go somewhere that I want to carry my wallet in my front pocket.
